Shaker Drain Tube Routing...
«

Hello all!
I just purchased a new shaker drain tube for my 1980 with the 301. I was curious to how the drain tube is routed in the engine compartment once it leaves the shaker and how long it is supposed to be. The one I purchased is over a foot long and I just want to make sure it doesn't need to be trimmed. I am going for a stock/factory correct look.
Thank you all very much for any and all help!
Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend!

Mine routes down behind the power steering pump - wedged between the bolt and one of the lines running into the back of the unit. However, it's a 400, not a 301 - the run looks to be 18" or so? Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information!
I would guess the one I bought is about 18" long or so. Since my car has not had one on it since I have owned it, I had no clue!
So does the tube stay in the engine compartment when you remove the shaker or does it come with?
Thanks again!

The drain tube comes off with the shaker when you remove it. You have to take a little care to get it back in the right place when you put it back on.
