Title: Electric Choke Wire Question
Post by: TA400FL on January 13, 2018, 09:40:05 PM
I was running my new engine harness and wanted to see if someone out there could confirm if the blue wire in the photo is for the Electric Choke on the Quadrajet Carb?

I don't see where else it would go.  It doesn't fit the choke terminal with that boot so I would have to cut that off.

Thanks!
ERIC

That's the oil pressure sender boot, often cooked from exhaust heat. There is no electric choke, unless slightly custom harness. Otherwise most run a wire from wiper motor, live with ignition.

I ahould have known that one.  I have one of the laminated wiring diagrams but the only blue it ahows was for V6 electric choke??  I just thought it was a typo.
Thanks.  I will run that switched wire from wiper.
