79 trans am - radiator leakage
« on: December 18, 2017, 05:19:01 AM »
Hi folks, I'm a newbie here and I've recently picked a 1979 TransAm (5.7 L).
Its radiator leaks badly, that's why I've got hard time driving it. I've checked with my local body shop, and seems like they cannot fix the rad. At least they will not warranty their job in my particular case. I couldn't find the right used radiator, that's why decided to post here. Maybe someone sells a used one?
If no, can you guys recommend a place where you folks shop for the parts for your restoration projects?
Cheers!

Why are you seeking a used one? Or are you seeking something original that fits? Check that it hasn't been custom fitted to suit the engine since the 5.7 didn't come with a 79' TA, not sure what era it is.

Yes, the problem is about that engine, and some weird radiator that badly requires replacement.
Now, I found an APDI radiator, that is supposed to fit that 5.7L setup. Now, I don't know that brand, apdi.
Have you heared of it? It it okay? Do you think worth trying at least?...
Thanks
