Hi,

I've registered to the forum several days ago but I hadn't seen this topic...so here I am. My name is Francois, I'm from the north of France in the Dunkirk area. I feel like I'm the yougest here as I'm 19...anyway, I'm looking for a Firebird or any oher good looking muscle car for a restoration project. My tastes always make things more difficult :P

I haven't seen any muscle cars around here ! The only one I've seen was an early 2nd Gen Camaro two years ago and it was in Normandie. This afternoon I'll go to a garage specialized in US cars, maybe they'll help me find my dream car ^^

Welcome Ray.b, glad to have you and fire up those questions.  We're ready, willing and able to give a hand where we can.  Have you posted pics of your ride?  If you have point me to them, if not, we'd love to see what she looks like.

Hello, my name is Vance.  I'm from Central Illinois.  In 1977, I was sitting in Wildflecken Germany compliments of Uncle Sam.   Being in the military overseas, we could buy cars straight from the manufacturer.  My plan was to re-enlist, buy a 1978 Black and Gold SE and head to Ft Sill Oklahoma to meet up with a buddy that had re-enlisted, bought a '78 Gold SE and got stationed at Ft Sill.   At the last minute I decided to get out and come home.  I didn't get the car.  When I got home, I did buy a 1975 Red T/A w/455.  I loved that car.  But I always regretted not getting that '78.  Then I saw Smokey and the Bandit and I really regretted not getting that car.  Then along came marriage and kids and the car faded farther and farther into the past.  Now the kids are grown and gone and I had some time to work on restoring a car.  So I went on a hunt for a '78 SE.  Couldn't find one around here so I have settled on building a clone.  But I intend to make it the best most accurate clone I can.  I love this car and I would marry it if I could.   :)
