White 1980 TA 400ci
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:47:17 PM »
Hi all!
I've really enjoyed hanging around this site for some time and have only posted a couple of replies.
I haven't set up a way to share the pics of my project 'Bird, but I have recently begun posting small segments of it on my blog site. Benchracinggarage.com

I know it works there but Im trying to learn how to post them here. Tried Tapatalk app, and I can see them if logged in, but it may only work for me.

My Trans Am began life as a Turbo car but a previous owner converted it to a 400 which is exactly what I wanted. WS6 suspension with some torque.

The person I bought it from did quite a bit of cosmetic work, with paint, glass and interior bits.

Anyway, I've yanked the engine, had the rotating parts balanced and replaced the pistons.
Still using original rods but have been resized and ARP rod bolts used.
Comp xe262h cam, 2.11/1.77 #96 heads, edelbrock manifold, Quadrajet 810cfm, raIII exhaust manifolds, custom 2.5" exhaust.

I know this is a bit unorthodox but I hope to get some of this figured out, I'm an old fart trying to keep up with technology.

Can these pics be seen if you are logged into the forum? Or am I the only one that can see them since they are on my login?

Looks like the only thing I can see without being logged in, is this link to the exhaust sound.
For what its worth, in addition to the engine bits I spoke about earlier, the exhaust are RAIII manifolds, 2.5 inch exhuast with X pipe, and DynoMax mufflers. I could listen to this idle all day. Too bad we don't have smellavision yet.

Thanks guys.
At first I wasn't intending to replace the rocker covers, until I saw those black beauties and knew I wanted them. I love the look with the 'Pontiac Blue'
As far as the nose....I really love the 70 to 73, the first one I drove was '74,  fell in love with the TA's in 77, but took driver's ed in a '79!
I guess I love em all!
