Title: creating formula font/lettering
Post by: dgtldesigner on October 21, 2008, 05:32:23 PM
ok so.. i've been searching and searching for the formula style lettering. can't find it anywhere.
I know there's a few other people that have been looking for it too.
well i think the only way to get it is to make it, which i started doing an hour or so ago..
haha i only have two letters done so far (hey this isn't easy!)
here's what i've got
(http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a229/dgtldesigner/misc%20trans%20am/formulafont.jpg)

I need to find good straight on images of the lettering from things like..
TRANS AM
TURBO TRANS AM
MACHO T/A
FORMULA
etc...

If anyone has any good pics of this style lettering please please post it. every extra letter i can find helps!
if i get enough letters together how they are suppose to look i can get those made and then just wing the rest of 'em.
Anyways.. just wanted to post something about what i'm scheming up. hopefully i can pull this off.

Steve, I'll have to see about having you design the decals for my truck when I get it painted.

Either: CHEVROLET  or   FORMULA 1500   in the 70's Formula style lettering.

i copied some or scanned them from a parts catalog, decal page, to use on some 1/24th models i made. They were really small, so they are not good enough to use for something larger, but anyways just wanted to suggest you try scanning them out of the catalogs since your just using them as templates to draw over.
