My love of Trans ams comes from My Oldest brother John had a think 76 50th aniversary T/A and his at the time girlfriend had a blue maybe 77/78 not sure was only 7/8 yrs old. My oldest sister Barb, had the '80 Formula that I bought in '89. Of course Somkey and the Bandit.

its true and at the risk of sounding old but in the 80s cars were cheap,yea i made like 5 bucks a hour in 1980 but 100.00 runners were common....i remember 2 that were both 100.00 a 1970 350 4d impala and a 68 455 delta88 4d ....drove both as winter cars and sold them for 100.00 after the winter....all that stuff  is gone heck i see wrecks for 2000.00 these days funny thing is that pants/jeans were really expensive and are cheap now ;D heck i paid 50.00 for san frans/james jeans,etc....levis were for  ::) in the 80s well cant say.now i buy jeans at walmaret for 8.00

I think I got hooked on Trans Ams from "Knight Rider". Back when I saw that show, I thought the third-gen Firebird was the bomb. Still love that car to this day and would love to own one, but "Smokey and the Bandit" got me permanently hooked on second gens. So I guess it was a combination of Knight Rider and the Bandit that got me into TAs.
