7B9 is a date code of Feb. 9th, 1977.  Is it possible that this same alternator could have been put on a 1978 Trans am with a build date of March 1978?  If so, then that means the alternator was on the shelf for 13 months.  My 1978 has a build date of March 6th.
Consider it sold.  Total with shipping to 67052.  Thanks

sorry i cant confirm the date code vs production date of a car... but i do know that many parts were cast prior to the date they were used, & sat on a shelf for an undetermined amount of time untill they got used. & the part number definitely shows its for a 1978 firebird, so theres a very good chance it could have been used on your relatively early production 78 t/a.

will send PM with shipping & payment info.  thanks.
