Y88 Restoration and Identify this part

Some of the 78' TA w/400 owners might know what this is, and I'm sure Hitman knows. But this is a part that was usually discarded when working under the hood. It seemed to some that it was just a piece of metal that got in the way.

I started a restore thread, for my Y88, a while back and never got past putting a cover on it. I worked on my 87' K5 Blazer and that took up a lot of my time for projects. You can see the K5 Blazer build at
http://ck5.com/forums/threads/87-k5-cashbag.280733/
. I am going to try and start the process again. Some of these pics were posted awhile ago and with all the new members they'll seem like new pics.

That's right.....heat shield. I haven't found a part number for it and I have never seen one on e-bay. Does anybody repro that part?
I found mine when I was inventorying parts and remembered how hard they are to find.
Start of restore thread from 2007......

I'm pretty sure 77 didn't get the choke shield. The intake isn't drilled and threaded for it. That choke shield got a specific bolt too.
Your car was a pretty nice one when it rolled off the assembly line. You've got the best of the best Y88.

Dropped the gas tank today..........and guess what was still attached?
Not in as good of shape as the one I found behind the back seat, but still a keeper. I had to put it in a plastic sleeve to preserve it as best as possible. If you try to rub off the thick dust it also rubs off the words and numbers.
So far that's 2 build sheets for this Y88.
