rockers and valves
« on: July 07, 2017, 11:33:06 AM »
has anyone played with different rocker ratios on a pontiac 400??

i have a 1969 400 with 62 heads, flat top pictons with 6cc valve reliefs, .043 head gasket, and .010 deck height....
...trying to figure out if 1.65 rockers will work with out having any issues....
already have enough clearance with the push rod holes in the heads, and the guide plates seem to have lots of clearance as well...
has anyone had a similar set up with any issues???? or have a similar set up with no issues ????

i had 2 lifters go on me recently, actually popped the center right out of them and bent the pushrods too, so i'm a little leary of things is all
i'm just starting to put her all back together now after cleaning, polishing and re-doing my heads, new valve seals, springs and rocker studs
i will be checking my cam lift hopefully tonight, and make sure i don't get any piston to valve contact
