HELP!!!! UPDATE 12-14-2009
« on: December 12, 2009, 05:22:19 PM »

Never mind!  Tinman.........my hero  :D,   has come to my rescue..........AGAIN!  He had the part I needed!

Found most parts, but need one:
Shift Cable Selector Bracket.

Anyone here have that?
This is also listed under "parts wanted"

Hubby went to install the original shifter for my car.  As you all know, the previous owner put in that Hurst shifter.

We bought a new cable shifter assembly, but now when he went to put that in, we came across some problems.
It is for the orginal/stock th350 transmission.

He needs to see pictures the driver side transmission (so he can identify these parts).  You can email pictures to tntmnd2@aol.com or post here!!
Looks like the:
Bracket
Transmission Lever
and related hardware
is missing.

Everything that is in there right now, is after market to accomodate that Hurst Shifter.

He is in the middle of it right now and needs to see pictures asap so he can go to the parts store to see they have them.

Thanks guys!!

this is a common problem I have went through several times now. words of advice. If you think you may ever buy another t/a in the future, buy the brakets now as they are available and then ifyou come across it again you will be all set. I have two floor shifts readilly available for this purpose but no brackets as i think im going to need me some as well just need to double check.

My cars are asleep for the winter, and the 78 has a B & M shift kit, so I'm no help! Sorry! Do you have access to a Haynes manual? If you don't, buy one! Also Brett (Hitman) sells a CD manual in his store on the website. Those are ideas foe the future, hopefully someone can post pic's for you soon!  :)

We have the Chiltons book which is VERY limited to this sort of project.  WAAAAAAAAAAA, I can't drive my carrrrrrr!!!

Hubby is probably cursing me now, because I didn't want that Hurst Shifter in there!
