Can you decode these numbers for me?
« on: January 28, 2007, 05:14:19 PM »
Looked at a 69? Firebird today and it looks like its the original engine and four speed trans. Here is the VIN and firewall plate.

223379U111371    -- VIN

69        22337    LOR514932    BDY
200    87-67      PNT
11 - A

The body is solid but the paint is dead, and the seats look good but the headliner is falling, and the carpet has been replaced with in the last few years from the look of it.  It has a MSD ignition and MSD 6AL controler box and coil. The car is dark blue with a medium blue interrior and looks like it would make a good driver.

Thanks for the info. I will talk to the guy tomorrow and find out how much he wants for it. Is there anything I should look for inparticular on this model? I didn't have a light to look for the numbers on the engine with me so I will look for those tomorrow also.

Yeah, just look to see if the numbers match on the motor and tranny.  Other than that, it seems like a regular 1969 Firebird.

Yes, but a rust free 69 Firebird with a 4 speed. A few upgrades a little tickle of the engine and maybe a repop ran-air hood and such could make it a fun car
