« on: March 30, 2010, 12:17:34 PM »
Has anyone done a patch involving the trunk hinge I'm going to have to do mine with parts from a donor car, some pictures would be nice if anyone has done this, was wondering where is the best place to cut etc. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

its not necessarily a question of whats the best place to cut as, where can you cut, you want to cut all the way back into solid metal to completely get rid of the rust.....if you show a picture of yours I could show you where to cut.....

The metal needs to be cut right up close to the bottom of the glass, I guess it's a question would it be better to pull the glass and replace the bottom rib or not. I think I can blast the metal prime and paint and be OK, I might even pull the glass to make sure because the water came from somewhere. You answered my question though you don't necessarily cut out a whole section, just get to the good metal  and replace what you have too. Thanks
