This is one gorgeous car, I love it man absolutely love it.

UPDATE: Got the wheels primed, repainted, clear coated and back on the car. We also got most of the weatherstriping on the car. We still have to finish the weatherstriping (door, roofrail, and trunk), put the "firebird" emblems back on (ordered from NPD) and to respary some small interior pieces.

Thanks, I really appreciate all the replies and comments! I just got my "firebird" emeblems and interior paint from NPD and Ames in today. I hope to have them on the car this weekend and get the rest of that glue and old weatherstriping off my trunk so I can put the new ones on, but im not sure if we can get all that done in one weekend.

Love the color combo..looks clean!  What kind of paint did you use to repaint the grilles?

Thanks and I'm not sure what brand, but it was semi-gloss black that you can get from like Auto Zone or Walmart.

Great car It looks stunningly beautiful, as all Firebird do when they're in good condition:) Wish I had a grandpa that had a Formula for me

Thanks  I really appreciate it, but yeah he bought it new as a birthday present for my mom who didnt drive it hardly at all. Then, after my parents got married, my dad talked her into keeping it and parked it in his building until about 2 years ago. Then, I started driving it and we began restoring it.

i think it looks sharp. I used to really have a thing for the 77/78 formula's your combo and yellow with black on the bottom were my fav's as well as black/gold and blue and black wait any color but red and black i didnt care for that too much.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all the comments. Come to think of it, I never actually seen a red/black one in person. Well,  My dad and me talked about getting some gold snowflakes and putting on the car, but since we repainted the Rally II's I think we're going to leave them on it. I'm gonna try and get some more recent pictures and put on here tomorrow.

i think it looks great with the rally wheels. if my car wasnt supposed to have them, i'd prefer to have the rally II's overall. i love the looks of the 70 with no trim ring and pmd centers. they look excellent.

Yeah I now what you mean. I ran the "no trim rings" idea by my dad, who is very old school, and he just looked at me and said "your joking right?" haha.

I think this was a wise choice.  It looks outstanding with the rally's and breaks up the paint scheme really nicely.  

I love the way the Rally's look since I repainted them. I agree they do help break it up and the more I think about it, the more I think the snowflakes would be a little too much gold. Kinda like "too much of a good thing". I might find a set and put them on there one day just to see how they would look on it.
