Value 79 Y84 SE 305 Auto?
« on: April 28, 2012, 09:43:11 PM »
Basically looking at trading my truck for a 78 Y84, just wondering if were both in the same price range. Im asking $6500 on my truck.

It has 68,000km on it, 4 wheel disc. Seems like a few new interior and exterior parts as well.
It needs paint, but i work in a bodyshop and can get it done cheap. Ill post pics later.

Wouldn't it be a 80 if it has a 305? I see in 1980 it would be 1 of 12  :o but no production numbers for 79 305's

No such animal as a 79' 305. Don't believe even in 80' or 81' the 305 even came auto, I'm thinking they were all 4speeds. Would have to be an engine swap for it to be a 79'. Only 403, 400, and 301 (late production), were available in 79'.

Yeah that's also true. All 305's were 4spd

Doesnt seem to be a 305. Says its a Norwood car. All 305's were California cars

Cowl tag looks like one from 81 though. The VIN would help immensely

If it actually is a 1981 305 then it would be 1 of about 900

He says its an 81 and 1 of 932 cars produced, still waiting on that vin though.

He's gonna get that vin for me tomorrow, cars about an hour away from him.

I'd say that's a nice car to save.

Was not thinking about those. I think you are correct. That is an 81' model according to that cowl tag. Built 3rd week of June in 81'.
