10Anniv ... let me flame you now  ... only because you invited it.

NO. NO. NO.  It's a bad thought.  Don't put the batmobile front end on the more visually appealing `79 front end.  I personally think the '77/'78 front ends are all too common.  But that's just me.

The TATA needs a `79 front end.  My .02

Actually I am going to go ahead and repaint it black also....

JOKING!  Thanks for the advice, just a random thought and I have plenty of time to decide.  Right now it has the stealth front end as I took it off today.  Looks like I need some radiator supports but other than that down't look too bad.

LOL ... someone actually did that - Ebay car that was a TATA cloned to a 77SE.   I'm not kidding.

Why?  I guess there wasn't a better donor to make the SE clone other than the TATA, go figure.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news  :-\ but...the 403 had 185Hp.

a few mods and it would make 220 easy...not very better, but mine makes more than that now...I have yet to dyno it so I have no idea of actual horse/tourque, but it isn't stock
1979 T/A, 403 engine, posi tract, needs interior and body work, needs paint, an engine rebuild couldn't hurt, needs the nice weather of summer again, BTW, I have a 94 Chevy Silverado also

oh shush jeff. haha
I just think of it like this.
How many TATA's have the 79 nose. well prolly all of them.
since that's what they're suppose to and everyone is prolly like.. oh no don't touch it.
besides the fact that its a swap on the nose and some don't really like that, its an anniversary edition!!!

I think it'd add a lil touch of uniqueness to the ol bird.

Granted.. turning around and wanting to sell it to someone, they may or may not like it...
But if the owner likes it, that's all the matters right?  :)

Well am slowly getting some work done, Got the tail lights painted but need to do some clean up since the primer leaked on the lens.  Anyone know something good to get that off??

Now working on the headlights.  Seems I am starting at the front and moving back.  I am awating the paint from Eastwood for the headlight buckets and will paint the bracing the OEM silver after it is sanded and primed.

I am finding it really need to get the old parts cleaned and re used as opposed to just buying new.

Here are some pics:

Try some thinner on a q-tip. Damp, not soaking wet as it may eat through the plastic if you get too much on it. Wash it with copious amounts of water afterwards to stop any reaction that may be occuring. Another option is the thinner used for painting RC cars - think its by Testors now. That won't react with the plastic and will get most paints off. I've used it successfully before. Last option would be some fine rubbing compound and some elbow grease.

Good luck!

How does acetone react with the plastic?  I ask because that's what's recommended for removing paint from plastic eyeglass lenses, which are polycarbonate.  Fingernail polish remover is the easiest way to get a small quantity of that -- every grocery store and pharmacy will have it. :-\

As Brian says, whatever you use, TRY it first in an area that's not readily visible! ;)
