12 Bolt POSI

Do you count the bolts on the cover or the bolts on the ring?  I have been under the impression you count the bolts on the ring gear.  Is this a 12 Bolt?  Is the price fair if it is?

i think the price is high for that one, ive always counted bolts on the ring gear......

That does seem pretty high. i would think you could find one in a junk yard or something for significantly less money.

   Yes, 12 bolts holding the ring gear to the carrier.

   That IS a high price. Somewhere, if it "says" 12-bolt, the price just goes nutso. At 2.73:1 ratio, it's a paper weight for most.

   Not going to find a 12-bolt ANYTHING just lying around a wrecking yard. MAYBE on a "fluke", but they've been scarfed up years ago.  Last production was 1970, IIRC.
