I want to know if its possible to dye the plastic interior parts from light blue to black or is it worth it to just try to find an original black set?

It is very possible if the right prep work is done before the color change.
SEM makes very nice aerosol colors in nearly any color you'd want.

I'm not sure I'd do the seats ... I'd be scared it'd sweat back onto your britches. Ah, maybe I'd do the passenger side one weekend and hit the driver's side a month later...
