Yes it does have fisher t-tops

well the way I read it ,there were only 20 SE 4 speed 78's with Fisher T tops ever produced.
If this car is a true SE like you say ,then you have one hell of a rare car there .
I hope that is the one you are rebuilding.

btw ,do  you actually have  the PHS documents to prove it's that it's an SE ,and not a clone??

When I bought it I was told it was a S/e to tell the truth I really don't care what  I know is that it is a 1978 w72 4-speed car with t-tops black on black car. One cool car. It would be great if it really was a s/e It has tons of signs of being a S/E like pinstriping,gold dash,black molding around the windshild,and the ws6 package. And I do not think the dash has been replased because it is faded you cannot even tell it was gold intell I took of the bezel.

Regardless of whether it's a true SE or not I am jealous. You have the best possible most sought after combo there is imho !
I am just hoping that it is one of 20 ,that would be to cool !

My 1977 S/E has hurst but my 1978 has fisher t-tops

  I like the 76 the most.  I think the color of that car is actually RPO code #78 Carousel Red or #36 Firethorn Red as Hugger Orange wasn't offered on the Trans Am line for that year. 

Agreed. Looks like it got a repaint at some point. You can see the original Carousel Red on the sides of the cowl and where the "newer" paint starts/stops at the Carousel Red in the door jam area...also visible on the roof and portion of the A pillar where the paint has been stripped off.

yes the 76 is a really neat stand alone year. i had a silver one that was in ok shape looked good but need a total restore. i put new quarter skins on it met my wife lost ambition and sold it to some kid who swore he couldnt live without it. they are really neat last year of the single headlights but with a cross of the 77 bumpers super cool one day when i can afford to collect them, i will own one again.

i got fisher t-tops on my 79 just sitting and hate to see it go to waste.  u can have it for for 1oo.OO but u gotta come get it RAINMAN
