Confirm RPO code 8-track?

(1/2) > >>

mulletmobile:
I have a lot of down time right now due to back surgery so of course I have begun obsessing over getting my torn apart car back to working order.  Part of that is I finally decided to try and decipher the RPO codes to see just what exactly I have or was supposedly with the girl when new.  The RPO code is   UM2  AMFM RDO&TAPE (or AMFM RDO8TAPE) I can not tell for sure but I believe the first one was correct.

Can someone confirm this was the Delco AMFM 8-track?  I would greatly appreciate it.  And if you happen to have the correct one for a 1980 TTA you are willing to sell, let me know.  I have a Delco AMFM cassette with the digital screen on it in the dash now (I had the car before the DIN size and cutting the dash was cool thankfully).

I've got the original AM/FM/8-Track in my 78 Formula and the code is UM2 "Stereo with TA" Short for stereo with tape. The description was truncated.

I don't know about 1980, but in '79 the UN2 was:

RADIO, AM/FM STEREO - W/INTEGRAL 8-TRACK STEREO TAPE PLAYER..........$345.00

Yes, it would have been a Delco.

Wallington:
Don't get UM2 and UN2 confused.

nakita7:
My 78 SE has code UM1 for 8-track with AM
