Title: Idler arm bolt size help - 1980 Trans Am
Post by: mulletmobiledfs on November 29, 2016, 03:11:49 AM
I misplaced the bag with the idler arm to frame bolts.  Rather than waste any more time on this right now?  Does anyone know the dimensions for them?  My older CD manual copies from here did not have the parts catalog through 1981 and I am guessing that is where I would find this great info.  Just in case I am off base on this, I would appreciate info on where to find the dimensions so I can find this info on my own and not ask such base questions.  No problem forking over the money for the catalog, just looking to try and get this done ASAP.

BTW, I have looked around on the net, but all I found was for bolts up to 1979 making me think the 80 and 81 have metric size ones in there.  I know I could just put whatever in, but that is not how I usually do this and want to put in what is supposed to be there.

Thanks ahead of time, much appreciate with any help you can provide.

I just checked my 1980 assembly guide and all I could find were the factory part numbers (no sizes)

Bolt  #9436801
Nut #9422299

Maybe someone else has a parts directory for 1980-81 F bodies.

Nothing in the GM 76-81 parts manual. I believe it's probably a 7/16" bolt and locknut.
