Topic: 1979 trans am wiring color diagram

Hi all, need some help, i'm after a wiring diagram for 1979 trans am, i have one that's not matching the wiring in the car. eg 79's have five lights each side across the rear of the car, the diagram only shows four, some of the  wire colors don't match either. I also bought 1979 restoration manual cd, cant find anything in there either. Does anyone have one or a photo or link or a down loadable one please. Mostly concerning the headlights and tailights/brakes/indicators.

Jeff -- on my computer the picture that Brett posted above is too big to show up on the screen all at the same time.  Right click on the pic and select "save as", then save it off to your computer.  Open the file with your picture viewing software and you'll see the part that's cut off on the screen here -- the tail light wiring is there, but it doesn't come through on here.  The part of the above picture that you're interested in is shown on the right hand side.

yeah, well I wanted to make it large so he could see everything on there.  I have a 28" monitor so I still have plenty of screen left and the full picture is showing.

Yes, you don't want to resize it because it will lose the needed detail -- the letters may not be legible.  You want as many pixels as you get get for those diagrams.

Thank you that has helped alot, any chance of showing the connections to the Turn signal switch and Brake pedal switch please.

Hey Mal/Kaz!! Haven't received the lenses from David yet, spoke to him again on Tuesday and he said he would be sending them out that afternoon, lol.

Hitman, need to see the wiring colors for the brakes and turn signals at the switch ends, steering column and brake switch etc.
What i have to do is run a new separate wire from brake switch to rear of car to isolate brake lights from turn signal circuit, eg I can't have the brakes flash when I'm turning. Then i have to convert the outer parker lights into turn signal lights.
Hope that clears it up a bit.

Thanks for the diagrams, managed to do the job this weekend on putting amber indicators in, thanks also goes to Mal for dropping in and giving me a hand and David who molded the lenses for me. Heres some pictures.
