Console and Dash Restoration
« on: May 24, 2006, 04:32:30 PM »
Have any members here ever used anyone other than Just Dashes for restoring a dash or console? Has anyone ever bought one of the OER consoles? OER consoles really look like nice pieces but I'd rather not dye these two pieces if possible.

I've got an OER console.  It looks nice but it doesn't fit like the original.  I had to fiddle around with it to get it installed.  It looks OK but I really don't like it very much.  I'm still trying to decide what to do.  I have black interior so I didn't have to dye it.  But I was thinking about buying an original console and having it refurbished.

Just Dashes is who I was told to use for refurbishing dashes.

I use a place called Dashboard Restoration USA out of Brush Prarie Washington.  They charge less than Just Dashes and take half as long.  I have had about 6 or 7 dashes restored by them and they do just as good as Just Dashes.  Just Dashes charges $650 and takes 8 weeks, Dashboard Restoration charges $475 and takes 4 weeks.

Thanks for the links. Have you ever sent them a colored dash? If so, how well do they match the original color? Especially Firethorn? Do you know if they can repair the radio opening? If not, I guess I'll have to find an uncut dash to send them. Again, thanks for the reply.

The color is nice.  I sent them a seta belt cover to match the firethorn red for a 77.  They do not repair the radio holes, only the cover of the dash itself.
