rear bumper is there a fix for it or junk?

stress cracks.  I filled the bumper with water and it holds.  it just looks like a dried up river bed.

sand down material to remove cracks. it will change colors. most  of the time you will not need to go too far until they are gone. In the even t that they are deep, spray flexible filler primer and sand. you will need to let it sit before sanding. This procedure works for me.

since I have personally refinished 1 nose and two rear bumpers, I would recommend you try to find a better skin.
but if thats not an option you can sand down the area until the lines are all but gone, then the skin can be repaired with dominion or comparable flexible bumper repair compound, its 2 part.
then it can be covered with epoxy primer.
then spot areas with polyester 2 part finishing putty
then some sandable primer very thin
scuff and paint.
the epoxy primer is essential to your bumpers finish

where ever you get your autobody supplies should have the repair compound.
