10k is average. 15k is not unheard of. Between primers, materials, sealers, paint, clears, spray booth time, ect, the materials bill will be 2500-5000. now figure labor at 70-85/hr and it takes a good 100 plus hours to strip, prep, spray , sand, ect , ect all the way to buffing the clear coat. These are excellent, but not top notch( Pebble Beach, AMBR, Amelia Island, ect) quality show jobs. Top notch jobs cost more and are typically reserved for customs and pre-war classic cars. Lesser shops can do it for less, but there could be imperfections and/ or lower grade materials. A build the one local shop did had at least 15k just in primers and paint. this car also took home many awards at the detroit autorama. This is typical of shops in the NJ area. I am not referring to basic scuff and shoot jobs , but stripping down to metal and bringing it back up.
