Well, today is December 7th, the 65th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I salute the men who died and the men who lived to fight for our freedom and safety.

I'm proud of my 17 year old sister who got the opportunity to sing at Pearl Harbor with her local school choir today. She will remember this day forever.

If I ever get to Hawaii, the Arizona memorial is first on my to do list. I have always wanted to see that. Just overwhelming to think of all those sailors that went down still inside the ship. Reading articles about it today, it was kind of sad to realize that the generation that went through that are quickly passing away. I guess there is a service there every five years, and some veterans were saying it is probably the last time they will be there for "roll call".

i went when I was in high school and it was humbling then even for a cluless kid. It is amazing to see how the country responded back then and compare it to 2001 and no we can't agree on what to do or how to do it.

The memorial is amazing. I was there in March of 2001 for the fist time and I'll never forget the feeling you get stepping off the shuttle boat onto the memorial. Looking at the wall of names, seeing the fuel oil bubbling to the top of the water from the wreckage/tomb below.

It's very sad to walk through the musuem and see the soldiers letters that were mailed out to loved ones that morning, seeing all the photos that show the soldiers facial expressions while battling the fires, it must have been hell on Earth.
