Yeah I know.  Personally this guy I have issues with.  I know it's just a matter of time he picks off a kid or t-bones someone.  Also, he likes to sit and stare at the young girls we have working at my in-laws DariBar.  The one girl even has had him follow her home before.  None of the kids like it when he's around.

Yeah this knob is on duty today and is going nuts.  We are being overrun with bikers on a poker run.  The neighboring town which is only 5 miles away has this little tavern.  Today they are having their unofficial festival.  You guys will like this.... it's called testical festival.  Local farmers bring in their "harvest" and fry them up to sell and eat.  This johnny cop is going around and harassing these guys who actually never really do anything bad.  It's the locals and the Mexicans that run Heroin through here he should be harassing.

Real close to Willard.  It's just a smidge SW of Willard off of rt103 and rt602.

I had the same issues with mine, it started when I changed out my belts.. anyway, I tested the battery, it was good, test the alt, it was good, checks the grounds I could get to, and it was good, added some more grounds, still had the problem, decided i was tired of messing with it so I replaced the alt, did not fix it, replaced the battery, did not fix it either, i bought the a new wire harness, went to put it on, noticed that the bolts on the solenoid were less then finger tight... ooops... I assumed that it was fine down there, you know what i mean? so i replaced the wire anyway, and it fixed my problem, now I am not sure if it was the wire (which was beat the hell out of) or if it was the loose bolts, I'd say both.... so I'd double check all the connecting points, all the hold downs, and work from there

That makes sense - if the volt meter fluctuates at engine idle (engine shaking), it could very well be a wire that's bouncing around with intermittent contact.  If it's solid at a different RPM (less engine shake), the wire has less vibration/more consistent contact.

Yeah with mine, at idle, it was fine until I put a load on it, like hitting the brakes, when I would hit the brakes it'd jump down then back up and stay, turn signal, it would jump up and down with the turn signal, if I ran the head lights, wipers, turn signal and brake at the same time, the voltage would be so low it would stall out, I had to up my idle just for that.............. The lights would dim out and brighten up, it was weird but in the end, it made sense

Mike - unpaid parking tickets?  Just kidding.

    I know, it's an Ohio thing, I wouldn't understand.

If your buddy doesn't get the electrical problem figured out Larry.  I can give you a hand and I can bring my fluke.  We'll figure it out.

Ditto here.  Now I can't help much in the way of beer but my inlaws own an Ice Cream Shop :)  With out seeing it in person, my guess is that it has to be something more on the simple side like a bad battery cable or connection.  Have you been able to narrow it down at all when this fluctuation occurs?

I just checked my voltage while running - 14.4 @ the battery, 14.7(1-5) on the alternator.  I get a little bounce - nothing to make me want to pull a starter motor.

I've been sitting for two weeks so I'm assuming I'm charging with the voltage difference ...
