Installing rear window louvers
« on: August 01, 2009, 07:57:49 PM »
Hey guys....I'm installing a set of rear window louvers (aluminum ones) and im wondering if someone can send a pic of the installed product.  I'm trying to see where it all lines up once it's installed.  I'm hoping to get a pic of the side pieces attaching to the center.  Thanks for the help!!

Back when I had them, you had to wedge in the side pieces under the trim and then add on the center section ...but that was 20 years ago.  Some of them had double sided tape.

Someone will be along.

Do you like your louvers hitman? Do you currently have them on the car?

My Y82 SE parts car had them.

They were installed as described above, the sides wedged under the trim and the center I believe used some double sided tape to hold it on. I'm not a fan of them so I sold them with a few other parts of the car.

'Scuse the ugliness of this car.. Shes been cut to pieces now.

I don't have them on right now, but I was planning on maybe putting them back on.  I need a key though.  I had a key but someone lost it so I am trying to find a new one.

Why do you need a key? Do the reproductions come with a key?

Without the key you can't lift the center part of the louvers..

Thanks guys....it was just as you said it was.  Double sided tape and all.  Compared to the ones that you guys posted (Hitman & Logikfive) it don't look like mine are installed properly (?)  And if they are installed right, I'm not sure if I'm a big fan either.  My sides don't look like their made out of the same thickness as yours.  I don't know.....what do you think?  -Cher

I appreciate all the pics guys.  They all look good.  4SPEED...yours looks hot!  I like the look of them on the white.  Nice car!  Because of all the great pics, it really confirmed my original thought.....mine are installed wrong.  My sides are Under the center piece, when they should be butt up-to the center piece.  Oops!  So....stay tuned for an update!
