Just wondering what book(s) you recommend that deciphers vins, cowl tags, engine numbers and any other id numbers?
-
I recommend Brett's pages for most and Fred's Pontiac Page for engine numbers that might not be here as well as carb. numbers.
-
Yes, I normally look on Brett's site but I'm taking a 600 mile trip to look at a TA and I need something on me to decipher codes.
-
Oh, gotcha. :-[
Maybe you can print out the info you'll need? Or if you know anyone who has access to the site here and would be able to talk to you on the phone? (I know, that would be a lot like that Lowes commercial. lol)
-
That's not a bad idea. Why didn't I think of printing? Good one Larry.

I would recommend this book:
"Catalog of Firebird ID Numbers 1967-93"
It is inexpensive and has good information in it. There is also the Firebird Redbook that is for sale out there which has a little more information it it, but it costs $75 or more. But I recommend the book above because you can buy it for about $13 on Amazon.com

I like the red book also. I lucked out and found one on ebay. $5.75 and that was with shipping.
