Yeah, they are going to be expensive. They claim they are cheaper than having a similar car professionaly built to their level of quality.

They're going to be throwing away enough parts for a person to make a living off of. Where is the work being done? Someone should negotiate a deal to buy their scrap.

have heard only 50 will be built but dont hold me to it and the price is closer to 200k. there was one on ebay not long ago for 230k if i remember right.

I saw that one on ebay for 230k. it was signed by burt.
pretty ridiculous amount of money.. shoot. Their base price is a little ridiculous.
I still think you could take a junker and have it fixed up gloriously for their base. or less.
Aaannd it could look how you specify.
I personally don't like some of the things they did to the inside.. but well. At least they are trying.

$50,000 to build the car
$5 to tell everyone their building the car(seeing how just about every magazine covered it)
$10 it cost to list it on ebay
$60,000 to get burt off his big rich butt to sign the car and use his name
$119,985 that they feel they deserve for using their name and blessing the world with themselfs.
see makes it look like a bargin ;D

anyone else notice all the cars pictures have fisher t-tops, but burts orignal car had hurst?

You know... I have a copy of one of the early Smokey and the Bandit scripts and in it there's no mention at all of T-tops on the Trans Am (though it most definitely does have the Bandit driving a T/A).
Jon--who owns a hardtop Y81 SE and doesn't have to worry about leaky T-tops! ;D

I have heard that before, but in my mustang conv.. There was a big hole in the roof on the pass, side. It kept me dry so....

Damn, Year One sure is up on themselves if they think someone with $200k is going to drop that kind of money on a hyped up pony car. $200k and you can pick up a couple of Vipers or even a Ferrari. Sure, it's nice to have some new aftermarket stuff out there specifically for Trans Ams, but even that stuff is overpriced! $800 for a slightly different looking rear window? $600 for plastic door panels?
