This thing may hit 30,000, ( Yea or ney)
-
Wow, some paint job. I noticed that in none of the pics does he show the inside of the doors. The reason is that they don't have any interior pieces installed on them. If you look at some of the body shots you can see the drivers side interior door without any interior installed on it.
-
Good eye rkellerjr, A very unique car, for sure. The door panels probably blew out the window. I like it for several reason's, The 1st would be he left the stock 403 in.
-
Not a bad paint job. I have seen worse. Wouldn't be all that bad if it wasn't for those huge arms on the side.
-
I'm afraid the engine is the only thing I like about this car. It looks like it's got aluminum heads on it too, although he never gives any details about the engine. He obviously put a lot of work into the paint scheme, but then started to slack off. What is with those front seats? Looks like he just strapped or sewed some rear covers and lower skirts on them.
There is less than 1000 miles on this complete Restoration.
Would someone please give people like this an accurate definition of the word "Restoration"???
And what's a "Hurst frame"?
-
I'm not wild about the paint job at all. I think they went a little overboard especially on the sides of the car. I'd still drive it though! :)
-
I'd still drive it though! :)
Yeah, well you have an LTD :P......
Oh wait, so do I. ::)
-
lol...that's right! :)

All that I can say is WTF??? At least, the car has a full tank of gas.
-
This guy has some kind of flu or something. This car should be in a movie, " The Flush and the Feverous". I would have to take it right to MAACO or Earl Schibe. No interior pics, no engine details or power stats, If I built that much motor, Id want you to know ( My Buick makes 575hp ) for sure.
-
Not a bad paint job. I have seen worse. Wouldn't be all that bad if it wasn't for those huge arms on the side.
You've just gotta love those arms! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I heard, One day it will be the Official Superbowl Car for the Cicinnati Bengals.

I posted this up over on TAC before they went down tonight and I'm amazed. Talk about ugly. :x
-
What a waste! :'(
The person who buys it has to be a winner too!
:P
-
I think Hitman liked the paint, but hated the arm's, I think this is an ULTRAMAN Theme. Darn How could you throw off on Ultraman like that. Crime fighter, ya know..
-
It reminded me of too fat and furious tokyo drift, i havent seen it but my kids have, although i have seen the VW Touran with the big fists on the side, it was at a refurb company here in the UK, looked daft!
The only muscle im into is Cubic Inches!
-
lol , How true. Too bad the arm's don't work, I personally could have used them growing up in these cars, to push the tree's to the side as I went through. still , LMAO
-
I am heading out of town this week and was checking for cars on craigslist..... Guy thinks it worth a big penny
http://columbus.craigslist.org/car/441657387.html

Mighty fine
-
He may sell it on all Hallowed Day, ROUND (3)
-
:o I dont feel the "fast and the furious" paint scheme does anything for this car. that stuff is best left to the tiny tuners, i mean rice burners, oops i meant the import tuners. Havent been on here long enough to know how polliticaly correct or in correct you folks try to be... rofl!!! But i love the 403 still in there and the paint job is pretty nice without all the other stuff on there. I built a 79 SE last year for my now ex. i built a 403 (well maybe more like 418) alluminum heads and a bunch of other goodies. That thing would run ;D . I hope she enjoys it!!! hahaha
-
Serious, I'm Sorry to hear that last part! But I know for a fact,

Hmm I like this line from the auction...
There is less than 1000 miles on this complete Restoration. The paint is a top notch HUGE $$$$$ custom job and the racing stripes are painted starlight black, they are not decals.
Methinks someone has more $$ than brains if they spent huge $$ to paint it like that.
-

Maybe, the car was sold from a Bozo the Clown estate sale
-
That made me laugh, My brother in law is in Estate business.
79ws6resto you are right. I missed that one. Thank-You for the post.
-
I just noticed it finally sold....$11,500. (best offer) :D
-
I don't know if any of you noticed but on top of the doors not having panels and the fact that he doesn't show anything about the car other then outside shots the paint scheme is from that low budget film " Fast And The Furious...that were he got his decal....lol..I saw this car when it first came on ebay and thought it was nice but then i saw the no door panels and such...and then to big antena...yuck...
-
nice but i didnt think it was worth over 5- just me-

Ended at $9700. just a few minutes ago :o
Different seller this time (yet same number of feedbacks) but seller isn't last buyer or seller...odd stuff going on with this car.
-
I think we will see this car again.
-
I think we will see this car again.
Oh God please no!!!
-
Ohh come on now. With that stellar paint job its bound to go up yet again.
If you noticed it didn't even change cities let alone states from the previous iterations of the auction. Methinks someone changed their ebay uid.

Now that is just... :o :-\
-
At this rate it will still be around for Halloween '09.
As a matter of fact, I wonder which will end first - the recurring auctions for this car or Hammer's Birthday. ;) ;) ;)
;D
-
I'll tell ya' which thread is more annoying...
(no offense to you, Michael)
-
Again???
Thought it sold for $9700. And if the seller really needs the cash then why oh why wouldn't you hand over the keys/title and run with the $9700? The ebay fees have got to be racking up on this. Unless this is a business trying to advertise their work at which point I don't think I'd be using that to show off what a shop could do...
-
Let me see....The car has been listed 7 times at 100 bucks a pop. 700 dollars ion fees. Amazing!!
-

Yeah but you can block bidders. I'd done that about the 2nd or maybe 3rd time. 7 and still going??? Something's fishy. Maybe its one of those famous stories..."See honey I'm trying to sell it but they won't give me what its worth."
-
I think Hammer Birthday post is more annoying. The Ebay listing fees are only $40 per listing, so that is only $280 spent on listing fees. And when you relist it the first re-listing is free. Also, if you have a non-paying bidder, you can also get the Ebay fees refunded. So, he probably has not spent more than $100 or so on listing fees. Do you think someone should email this guy and ask him to stop listing it so we can get a break from seeing it?
-

YES.... :D
I'm sure he'd do it for us, right? ;D
I think Hammer Birthday post is more annoying.
And YES. :-X

Can't believe that this car still hasn't completed a transaction...
-
Don't buy a cheap T/A that needs work unless you don't have to drive something very clean, otherwise restoring a car like this costs so much more than buying one finished.
Hmmm....going to take a lot of cash to put this thing back to collector value.
Place your bets now folks...I'm wagering we'll still be seeing this car on eBay next Halloween.

-
I think you're obsessed ;)
-
Gee thank's, That's what my doc told me. and I was just having the old yearly prostrate check... lol
-
The price isn't bad though. I've noticed that he's removed a lot of pictures of the car. Especially the interior pics that show parts missing.
-
It's not a bad car...just some things I would never do to one...like the Fast and Furious decal on the side...the name Trans Am says enough...and the door panels and such are not that badly priced if you really wanted to get them
-
He states this in his auction... "I am begging you not to end my listing"....
I think we are begging him to not to list it again.
-
"Item Removed"
-
Am I alone in feeling this way, or does anybody else sometimes have the urge to buy this thing just to put an end to it? :-\ :-\
-
Am I alone in feeling this way, or does anybody else sometimes have the urge to buy this thing just to put an end to it? :-\ :-\
Well, with the slumping economy and Bush's $600 welfare check to all the happy citizens that make less than 75 grand I say make the guy an offer of $600. That way the economy will be stimulated ;D
-
Am I alone in feeling this way, or does anybody else sometimes have the urge to buy this thing just to put an end to it? :-\ :-\
LOL I was thinking the same thing today...buy it...repaint it... and sell it once and for all.
-
There over 1500 member's here, We could all mail Brett 10 buck's each to buy the car
and then pick the winning raffle number????
-
I'm up for that ;D
-
I have actually thought about doing that in the past. Doing some sort of a raffle for a chance to win a Trans Am. Do you think that would go over? Maybe a raffle with a $50 ticket price and only 1000 tickets sold, so you would have a 1 in 1000 chance to win a Trans Am.
-
How many birds does the winner get for $50K ? :o
-
As in a Hitman-restored car? I'd be in for that.
-
How many birds does the winner get for $50K ? :o
You don't get any for $50,000... the winner gets one Trans Am for $50.
-
So are you talking about a restored T/A or a nice driver? I think you should post a sticky/poll to see how much interest there would be.
-
I assume a $50K raffle pot would give the winner a well restored bird.
I still like the idea of $10. x 1000 members to buy the orange bird on eBay...or $15. x 1000 members would buy the car and get it a repaint...then you could raffle that car maybe. :)
-
I think you'd have to watch the laws on Internet gambling and Ohio laws about raffles. It's done for charity all the time but it can get sticky, depending on the political ambitions of your local attorney general. :-\
-
:-X
Rick has a point...I just learned recently from a friend about the hoops you have to jump through to set up a legal raffle.
Just paint one red and cover it with tape...that way the government will like it. :-\
-
And at least in NY you're going to raise a heck of a lot of flags with the DMV when you declare the car to be "purchased" for $50. They want all the tax money they can get so a declared value would need to be set to make the legal weenies happy.
-
I just learned recently from a friend about the hoops you have to jump through to set up a legal raffle.
Of course, Brett could rig it to look like the car was registered in Liberia and the raffle was based in the Cayman Islands...:D :D :D
-
Or I can buy all the chances. Just received this email.

I can't hardly make out the first two lines, but I bet Jeff and Rick will decipher them for me.
-
Let's do it. I'm sure HITMAN can probably find out a way to make it legal. Most States
now tell you what the tax value is anyway, When buying a used car.

It says "Hi...I'm a complete idiot and I'm hoping you are too as that is the only way you will fall for my scam"
:D :D :D :D
If you don't do it Mike...I will. 10% of $4.8M is like...uh...like $48. I think ;) :D :D
-
We should use that email addy and make them handwrite out the whole script to Smokey and the Bandit. Offer $100 per uploaded and verified page and see if they're interested.
-
If you don't do it Mike...I will. 10% of $4.8M is like...uh...like $48. I think ;) :D :D
No, not with Japanese math. For them 10% of 4.8M is whatever your current balance in your account is...although the bank will cofirm that AFTER they transfer it offshore to the seller... :o :D ;)
-
Yes, you could win it for $50, but you would have to pay the tax on the declared value of the car. So, if the car would cost $25,000, you would have to pay 6.75% on the $25,000 which would be about $1,700. But that could be paid from the proceeds.
-
Count me in, SO do you have a car in mind ???
-
PHS Documented with build sheet as well...... 1978 Gold Y88 Special Edition, W72 Pontiac 400, automatic, WS6, A/C, crusie, rear defog, power windows and locks, one of the first ones that rolled off the line in 1978.
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
you get the idea!
-
I'm in...........$50.00 for a chance to get a nice set of Gold t-tops? (Looking at Hitman while trying to keep a straight face) ;D
Just kidding Brett......I think it would be great to have a pair of Y88's. A 4 speed and an automatic. :-*
-
Shall I do a post in the main section to see if we get a response?
-
Yes, Definitely.
-
X2
-
Count me in.
-
I'd be in on this as well. A twin to mine for $50? Hell ya!
-
Yeah, for $50 I'd be game too! :)
-
Me too ;D
-
Hells yeah!
-
Not only would I be willing to put in $50, but I will also slip Brett an extra $1000 under the table to.... wait, maybe I shouldn't tell that part. :-X
I'll throw in $50 ;D
-
Wow, I just started reading this thinking, "what are these guys talking about in this Halloween thread?". This is a cool idea, I'd certainly be up for $50 bucks in the raffle.
-
Can we buy more than one ticket or only one per house hold?
I will buy one or more tickets.
-
Let me work on this for a few days.
-
Uh, oh.......now see what we've done.
Another project for the Hitman.
Just don't go poppin any blood vessels. ;)
-
Ahhhh come on.....we all have spare parts laying around, we could do it.....it could be the Raffle car ;)

I am not even going to get started on Best of Show Automotive..... They are 6 minutes from me and I have seen these cars in person... I am not going to say any more.
I don't have any photos of the raffle car yet, but it might end up being a 1979 SE instead.
More to come soon.
-
Sorry about that brett, You warned me about how lame best of show automotive actually is. and I do beleive you. Did'nt L@@k. Won't happen again! GOOD eye (o) Tbird and thank's for the post.
