Topic: Y88 carpet color question

I'm trying to figure out what color carpet to order from either NPD or Year One for my 78 Y88. 

I know that camel tan is the official interior color, however...camel tan isn't an option from either place for carpet.

Year One has:

Saddle, Taupe, Buckskin, Chamois and Caramel

NPD has:

Gold, Ivy Gold (is that like puke green?), Saddle and Dark Saddle.

So, does anyone know exactly which of these is closest to original?  The factory carpet came out in big moldy wet chunks and went straight in the trash.

The carpet in the Y88 was originally gold. Or at least, that's what I pulled out of my car.

I didn't like the oddball carpeting with the rest of the interior so I replaced it with camel tan. It's NOT correct to the Y88 but its my car and easily swapped if I need to sell it off.

So to answer your question, you'd be looking for a gold carpet that is correct for a 1978 TA.

Can't remember the proper name for mine, I bought Chamois first and that was'nt what I wanted (Still have it in the box) Make sure you get ACI manufactured carpet, Hitman sells carpet through the online store on this site. Check with him.

Order the carpet from Brett....that way you won't have to think about it or guess.  Just tell him it's for a Y88.

Yep, otherwise they'll get gold carpet instead of camel tan.

OK Ordered my carpet in 2006 for my Y88, came from trim parts, has set in my basement since that time opened the sealed box today, 2-21-2014. I noticed it looked lighter than my original carpet (it is in pieces) looked at the box "Biscuit Cut Pile"  #53143-851 called trim parts and they (not surprisingly) wont exchange for any other color.  Camel tan is #53143-852 After reading this post I am confused I researched the crap out of this in 2006  and "Camel tan" was not an available color,  thought I had the right carpet color now I am not sure well I am sure it does not look like the 30 some year old carpet I puled out.  any thoughts would be great. I guess I will put this carpet in really don't  have the budget for any other move.
