Is it just me, or do those hood birds look the same?
Since we are talking hood birds, what is the difference in the hood birds that face the drivers side of the car, and the birds that face the passenger side?

Actually, the first bird is gold with orange highlights instead of just matte gold like the SE bird.  You can kinda see in this photo:


As far as the hood bird pointing a certain way, the 1973 to 1978 hood birds faced the driver:


The 1979 to 1981 hood bird faced the passenger side:


And the 1980 and 1981 Turbo hood birds faced the driver again:
