First, is the #7041755 above the word "Carburetor" the part number? 
Because the number on the carb is 7041273.  Does this indicate the box is not correct for that carb?
Having the original box with the original carb could be the difference of several hundred dollars.

I say it sells for $3300 to $3500.

I just checked "Fred's" page. 7041755 doesn't appear to be a good carb number. Not sure what it indicates then.
#7041273 does show to be accurate for a '71 RA GTO and Firebird!!! ;)

Yes, the top number is the part number, usually the AC-Delco part number.
Using an example, say like heads, everything will have a different part number.
Example: 1970 Ram Air IV heards have a different part number than the 614 casting number.

It's the NOS factor plus the casting # makes it desirable considering the applications it fits.
Some people have deep wallets I suppose  ;)

Sir Firebird,
It is number matching for a early Trans Am, which, for the years 1970-1973, can go for very high prices.
Any carb for a Ram Air III, Ram Air IV, 455 HO, or even 455 SD pull very high dollar.
Look at 1977-1979 Special Edition Trans Ams going for 30 grand.
Early Trans Ams, like 1970 to 1973, and including the SD 455 '73-'74 Trans Ams, are pulling up to a hundred grand.
Some, like a 1969 Trans Am convertible, pull way over that figure.
1970 Trans Am part prices are way high.
A set of JW (correct coded for the 1970 Trans Am) Rally IIs, used, needing a restro, go for over $2500 a set!
Remember now, Trans Am production for say, just 1979 was over 117,000.
Trans Am production for 1970, was 3,196.
1971 Trans Am production, was 2,116.
1972 Trans Am production, was 1,286.
These are alot less than any year '77-'81 Special Edition Trans Am.
Big difference vs over 100,000 made for one year.

Just giving you some info.

I guess i wasnt really thinking about it like that, production numbers and the like, i had no idea that the early ones sold so few numbers. ( Dum Brit huh? )
I got to be honest i think the price of early cars in the US is more than in Europe!
