1979 10th Anniversary Project
« on: September 19, 2014, 10:33:30 PM »
1979 10th Anniversary Trans Am.  It’s a true “X” vin car.  It was originally a 403 Auto car.  The car now will come with either a 400 and no transmission or a 455 and a Muncie m21.  I have acquired quite a few spare parts

2 sets of fenders-one set rust free and one pretty rough set
2 hoods, both usable with work
Multiple rear spoilers, some spare wheel spoilers
Multiples of some of the glass
Spare front subframe with suspension, The one on it has been blasted and painted
Usable 10th Anniversary door panels plus some other sets
One good core support, one pretty rough

The car is complete, but disassembled
It has a set of seats, but not TATA seats, just deluxe cloth
I have one uncut shaker and one cut.

The car will need:
Floor panels
Trunk panel
Dent repair
This is a very solid car aside from the floors and trunk.  The rear frame rails look perfect.  The lower quarters are solid.  There is a dent in one of the rockers, the roof, and the driver side rear quarter is beat up toward the top.  This is a very restorable car.  I had looked at a lot of projects before purchasing this one.  I had intentions to restore it, but it keeps getting put on the back burner and it’s time to move on.  I’d rather someone else restore it.

I am asking $2500 obo for the car plus spare parts with the Pontiac 400 I have.  Motor specs are: 1973-1974 400. 481988 casting.  4x-4h heads.  Has heads, oil pan, and distributor.
For $4250 I will sell the car and everything with  the 400 and the 455 with a Muncie M21.   It’s a: 1973-1974 455. 485428 casting number.  The 455 seems to be in great shape.  It appears to have been rebuilt and not ran very much as it still has hone marks visible on the walls, and the bottom end looked clean.  It has aftermarket pistons.  The m21 dated 1972.  It also seems to be in fair shape.  I have the driveshaft, clutch, bellhousing, pedal assembly-Everything from the trans am I pulled it from to make it work in this car.

The car is in Salem, Ohio 44460

Since buying this car, I've started and completed 3 other project vehicles without doing much to this, so it is time to let it go, and I'm sure my parents will appreciate having it out of their garage.
The car has TATA wheels that need work, it is currently on junk roller wheels.

Any questions just ask.
Thanks

Can get more photos on request, just trying to show the issues as best as possible.

455 is on an engine stand torn apart in my garage.  It's not outside as pictured.
Previous owner did way more work on the car than I ever have and documented it here. http://www.78ta.com/HTAF/index.php?topic=9185.0
Not firm on prices.  Just a starting point which I expect to be low balled from  8)
