Problem resolved, had to pry the primary throttle bracket piece that connects with the curb idle screw forward just a bit and that did the trick.

Hi folks, I appreciate any assistance here.   I started my 77 SE trans am for the first time and went to adjust the carb and noticed the primary idle screw or curb idle screw on the drivers side is about 1/4 inch away from the throttle linkage and I cant screw it in enough to even reach the linkage.   I made sure the throttle linkage is all the way back and the primaries are sitting at 90 degrees when I push the linkage to full throttle.   The screw is about 1" long and appears to be the stock screw.    The linkage appears to be okay and the carb was just rebuilt.   Lastly the place where the screw engages the throttle linkage is not sitting straight up and down.  It appears to be rotated about 30 degrees if that make since.   I was hoping someone could look at there carb to see if their linkage connection point is the same.

Once the car is started it appears to be idling fine yet the choke is engaged.

Thanks for any help here

DriveTrain / Re: Sucking major air via TPI Fresh air intake? Intermittent?

I havenít specifically had that problem and maybe someone with a better answer may chime in but intermittent vacuum leak could be possible I would think if your motor uses thermal vacuum switches like the 2nd gen motors.

DriveTrain / Sucking major air via TPI Fresh air intake? Intermittent?
« Last post by Joop85 on December 05, 2019, 04:24:58 PM »
85 305 TPI, stock, OBDI, 800 miles on rebuilt Mtr, too many mechanics that hear it say Vac Leak, I ask intermittently? It could suck at start up and (RLC) or not, or wait until I get a few miles down the road? starts first turn of key, related everything, TPS, IAC, TS, CAP, wires, fuel pump , filter, sending unit, checked all grounds, sat for 8 yrs occasional moving around, until I shipped it to Hawaii. I appreciate all info regards to this issue if anyone has heard of such a problem.

Interior / 70 manual transmission console question
« Last post by LOTA OT on December 02, 2019, 09:58:42 PM »
Manual transmission consoles have the plastic bezel around the shifter. The re-pops have the chrome trim but some photos for 1970's I see they are just black.  Does anyone know how the 1970's originally came?  Thanks for any info.

New member 'Checking In' from New Hampshire!

I've got a '74 Formula (an Original 4-Speed, Heat Only Car) that's currently in a MAJOR state of disassembly! I'm planning to move forward with a full restoration shortly and look forward to sharing here....  8)
