in dash tach problem
« on: December 17, 2012, 07:52:57 AM »
ok,changed tachometer wiring harness last night (with new one, for engine detailing purposes) tach :( didnt work, reinstalled old original harness and tach still doesnt work tach worked fine prior to this crapp!now background lites work and tach reads only about 500 rpm, never goes higher than that.
I hooked up a temporary tach to the wires coming off of coil that feeds the indash tach and works good, but when hook up to tach doesnt work right.
are these 40 year old tachs so sensitive that disturbing them in any way will break them?rather than go through the severe headache pulling dash apart to access this thing and send for repair any aftermarket tachs that any one can recommend that will mount to steering colum?any suggestions??
