Since I have replaced the incorrect radio with the correct one on my Trans Am, I now have an extra radio!
I have a used GM Delco AM/FM Stereo Cassette Radio (RPO UN-3) that I removed from my Trans Am. This radio has been installed in the car since the original owner bought it, however the vehicle was a dealer demo and had 3314 miles on it when it was originally sold. The original owner and myself think that the dealer must have swapped the original radio out and this one in during the "demo" period.
When I removed the radio, it did work. However, the radio had some issues and I am going to do my best to describe them so no one is misinformed:
- the radio powered on and received stations on AM and FM Stereo
- the radio did light up (the number dial, tape deck slot, and Stereo light lit up, I'm not sure how many more lights it has!)
- I was told the cassette deck did NOT work by the original owner (I don't actually own a cassette to test it and verify, sorry)
- the last issue the radio has is when you adjust the volume or lightly tap or touch the volume knob, it creates a loud static over the speakers that stops when you stop adjusting or touching the dial, I was told the static issue might be caused by dust build up on the inside of the unit.
I do remember seeing a post on here in the past about a guy in Texas who will restore these radios for under $100, but I can't remember the name.
The physical condition of the case is very good. No rust on the metal parts and no cracks on the plastic parts. All the preset buttons, both dials, and the AM/FM selector level work fine and move freely. The only wear I see on the face of the radio is a little bit of the raised chrome edge above the word "TAPE" is worn off. All the exposed wiring is intact in perfect condition.
On the top of the radio is a blue and white stickers that says "NOTICE" "USE UNGROUNDED SPEAKERS ONLY. TWO WIRES PER SPEAKER" and an orange sticker that says "REPAIRED BY: 161473, AUTO-SOUND CO., 2849 LOUISIANA AVE. N., MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. 55427, PHONE: 544-9383"
On the right side (if your looknig at the front) it has the original blue and white GM Delco sticker which has the following information:

Along with the radio I am including a set of wiring harness plugs and an original foam lined GM Delco box (the box came with my new radio and is not original to the one I'm selling).

Also, I have done my very best to describe this radio as it is. If anyone wants more pictures or anything described better, just let me know and I will get the information. I want to make sure whoever buys this radio is happy. I am not looking to just get rid of it. I would rather not sell it at all, then mislead someone.
