has anyone ever used one of these to put spekers in the back tray?
i'd like to see some pictures before i buy one... thanks!

eroc, that's exactly what i'm talking about... did the TATA really have the speaker shelf with the built in mesh speaker grilles?

Yes, the entire tray was mesh with speaker holes cut out underneath the mesh.  They started doing that in 1979.  Not all of them had the mesh, but it became more used as they went along.  They sell them in all colors.
