Topic: January 2010 Spotlight - 1978 Trans Am of Heidi Bennet-Martin

     Well, it is a new year and new decade and what better way to start it out than spotlighting a new member to the Forum.  I wanted to spotlight (and welcome) '78 LadyBird (formerly known as CYA 78... but when she found out what the CYA mainly stands for she changed her sceen name) and her 1978 Trans Am.  This isn't her First Trans Am, she has had 1978 Gold T-top Trans Am and also a red 1977 Hard top in the past.  Her current 1978 Silver Trans Am started in PA, then went to AZ, KY, and back to PA and now lives with her in NC.

      Heidi only joined this Forum a few months ago, but has come on like a Firestorm since she joined.  I don't think there is a topic she hasn't reviewed or posted to.  Asking alot of questions and doing her research very well before she gets into any job with her car.  She has done quite a bot of work to the car since it was purchased and always does he homework before hand.  The car is coming along quite nicely and I am sure will only get better as time goes along.

I don't know who was more excited about the car when it was trailered home....

  Heidi knows what she wants and continues to work on the car to make it better.  Everything from normal maintenance like doing the brakes but also starting to make changes to the car to bring it back to Original like replacing the shifter away from the aftermarket B&M one in there.  Of course that never goes quite so easily... ask her about her passeneger door and if it still opens ok or not.  But the good thing about the work being done on the car... everyone gets involved in it and it is a project that brings the Family together.

And ask her husband how it was refinishing the rims.....

  She has a great passion for the Trans Am, but I still think she has a little bit to go... I mean after all.... how come the boat gets to be under a cover yet the Trans Am doesn't?

Anyway, we will have that question answered maybe at a mater date.  I wish to welcome Heidi to the Forum and can tell she will be a great asset to the Trans Am Community.  She is always interested and asking questions about the car and helping out when she can.  She is also getting involved in many of the upcoming Trans Am shows and events already scheduled for the year.  Hopefully we will get to meet her at some of these event and I am sure she will fit right in with the rest of us.

So welcome to the Forum and hope to see that Trans Am in person this year.
