My passion for Pontiac began back in the 1960's with the GTO's.  My dad would take me a couple times a year to our local Pontiac dealer and let me look at the new cars and pick up a couple of promo model cars.  I never will forget back in 1970 seeing a a brand new 1970 Atoll Blue Ram Air GTO at the gas station.  That was one very cool car.  I was a die hard GTO fan so it took me a couple of years to warm up to the Trans Am believe it or not.  I guess 1976 was the turning point.  The Silver 1976 455 Trans Am on the cover of Road Test Magazine sold me on the car.  Heck it was the only true performance car left.  My parents was in the market for a second fun car and the Trans Am was a natual choice.  I optioned the car you see in the photos for them.  Thirty three years and 11,382 miles later the love affair is still strong.  I guess you could say I have been researching the W72 engine package for more than 30 years.   What would probably surprise all of you is my all time favorite Pontiac (other than the one in my garage) is a 1962 Catalina SD 421, followed closely by a 1963 Tempest SD 421 2 dr post.
