Topic: June 2010 Spotlight - 1980 Special Edition Turbo Trans Am of Bob Ries

June's Spotlight is for someone that has been around on this forum for a long time registering on APRIL 15th, 2007.  Bob Ries is the owner of this beautiful 1980 Turbo Trans Am.  I've met up with Bob at the Trans Am Nationals many times and he is a great person to be around as well.  His car was actually used as a festival car at the Indianapolis 500 Race on May 25th of 1980 and is now documented from the guys at the Indy Pace Car Registration.

Bob owned the car from 1997 to 2000 and then sold this beauty to a friend.  Bob's friend started looking for a Camaro in 2005 and Bob was looking again to buy a car.  Bob bought his beloved 1980 Turbo Trans Am back from his friend and has had it for the last four years.  Bob is trying to restore the car with the help of our own Renovations.  Bob and Jeff have been good friends for years.  You might have met Bob if you go to the Nationals as he has been going every years since I can remember.  So let me be the first to congratulate you Bob for Spotlighting you and your car on the forum.  Congratulations Bob!

Thank alot guys. It is an honor to be here . I have made alot of friends on here and I am sure there will be alot more. The cars are great but the people are why we come here.
