Lower lockout rod for 78 Borg-T10
« on: January 10, 2011, 10:38:36 PM »
Unable to locate a repro rod that will fit, could someone possibly give me the correct length so I could fabricate one? The only one I've found is for a 70-74 muncie which measures 21" and is way to long. Thanks :)

Justin, is yours a four speed and where did you install a switch? What I'm trying to find is the measurement of the rod from bellcrank back to the reverse linkage and possibly a pic. The only part i'm missing is the lower rod. Thanks, Wes...

Yes it is a 4 speed. I think I got my switch off Jegs or summit. It has a bracket and instruction for it. Really simple. Mounts down at the linkage. Maybe Doug has the rod for you though.

If this is the rod your talking about, for the column lock and back up lights. It is about 16 3/4" long. Center pin to center pin. It is hard to measure because the rod has a bend in it. hope this helps. Sorry for the crappy pics. not alot of room under there.

well not really sure. without looking at my car.  in your 1st pic you show the brackets.  I have that too, and the rods were attached to it whenI got it.   I was going to install them if I ever get rid of my headers.

I guess I need to take a look see at my setup.

You should have a little give one way or the other, because the top rod is adjustable.

Hey 4Speed, I dug out my spare clutch pedal rod and it looks and measure the same as the one in your pic.
The end with the stamped tangs is what holds the firewall boot to the rod.
