And now for the bad,  the only sheet metal problems are the floor pans,  the passenger side was the original one I noticed so I ordered one from http://www.body-panel.com/.  will see what I get when it gets here.

I did some quicky sandblasting on the floors to knock off the rattle can paint someone had painted and found I need a drivers seat area pan as well.   I may try to get this side out of my parts car,  need to inspect next time i am there.

While pulling the motor,  I found out its locked up,  I bought it un running but was told that it did run,  so didnt think I had a motor problem until now.
I took the heads off and found a little rust,  sprayed some pbrustbuster in there and let it sit over night,  it turns over now,  so I think no major problems.  However since i now have the engine tore down,  I am looking to change blocks,  this one is a 500557 block and after some research I am not sure I want to put the $$$ into it,  would rather find a xx481988  block to replace it with.

I am not planning any serious mods,  so I am sure the block I have would work just fine,  just one of those things I guess.

I am planning on making something similar to this,  to flip it on its side.  Anyone out there tried this?

Looks to be a cool project.
Was the car an original 400 4 spd car or you are making it one?
What year was the ngine you took out and what heads are on it now?

It's an original 4 speed car vin (2W87Z9L******),  but the motor and tranny were long gone.  The engine that was in it is a 77 YU coded 400.

It was also an originally dark blue exterior/baby blue interior.  I am thinking of making it corvette yellow with tan interior. I never was a big fan of the baby blue interior.
