Turn signal
« on: April 26, 2007, 06:27:12 PM »
Hello all, My 79 T/A's turn signal won't lock when pushing turn signal stalk down. (left turn Clyde) Is it a pain to fix? Any idea what needs to be replaced? Who has the best part to fix? Thanks in advance.

sounds like a turn signal switch needs replaced...most places like autozone or advanced or napa can either carry them or get them for you.....or the resto places will carry them too

The 79 is a little different than the 78 and I've never taken a 79 column apart.  However, to replace that switch on the 78, you have to lower the column to get to the ignition switch connectors and remove a bracket to pull the sheath off the wires.  The wires and switch are all one unit.

I agree
turn signal switch not that hard on 79.  Make sure you get the right one,  there is a difference between side marker lamps or not.  You will have to remove the stearing wheel and pull the colum to get to the switch.  The switch pluggs into a harnesss on the underside of the stearing colum.
