Yes, this is no car for a do it your selfer amateur.

I've seen plenty of restorations on here with cars in a lot worse shape than this.

This car is a $60k+ car with a full restoration

Most cars run about $20k to restore so lets say this one on it's worse day is $30k to have a professional restore it.

It runs and drives, the AC works.  This saves about $6k right there

The interior is like a time capsule. You save another $2k on the interior.

I already have the T-tops that go on this car.  save another $1k

There is but this is an old post of mine. The car has currently been sent to a shop to replace the rusted panels.

As of right now the car is rust free

I've got the same car so i was interested in following some resto's but there's not a lot of Y82's W7s's on here to follow. The posts I have found are really old. Maybe you could start a new thread showing yours. I don't plan on starting till the winter because of yardwork but could definitly use the inspiration.

I'd say that one's net ready to be for sale yet.... i hope Jupiter is buying the big rolls of .030 wire and not the small ones to cut back on trips to the welding supply store. Rust repair is one thing im good at so theres no one that appreaciates a rust free car more than me. I've done complete rapair to someone elses ride then turned around and got rid of mine that needed the same work because i didn't want to do it again. (1970 Blazers)

From what I've read it seams like the front of the car and interior was in condition....How did the rear get the shaft? I'm getting the image of a TA hanging in a boat garage in south Louisiana and the rearend was in the water.......

It's what happens when you leave a car on half gravel and the rear in the grass. It sat for years under a car cover.

As for the welding wire, I used not quite one roll.

The car is not for sale anymore. I was asked to put up a picture. So there is one with the rust and one with factory panels replacing all the rust. Plus you can see I split seams and spot welded it back as close to factory as possible. I replaced full panels most NOS others off a donor TA. When done it will look very nice and probably be stronger than new. This car is also getting frame connectors.

I don't know I may sell this one, as of right now I could care less as the rust is gone now.

I'll try to get over to the shop and get some more pics. I put it on the back burner as I've been enjoying the absence of snow!

JupiterBandit - I've always wanted a 4 sp 77 SE, but this was way beyond my ability.  I am glad to see that you are reviving the car and I can't wait to see more pics!!
