Neighborhood F-bodies
« on: May 10, 2013, 05:42:24 PM »
I decided to start an archive of all the 70's Camaros and Firebirds in my local area.  I had easy access to several today, so I'll start the ball rolling.

This first one is very nice.  A guy was supposed to be fixing this car, but it's been sitting at the hobby shop for over a year in its present condition, lots of aftermarket parts in the seats.

Here's a pic of all the stuff inside.  I really wish I had this guy's POC info so I could get him to post on here.

Next one is a car for sale.  I couldn't get close because it is locked inside a U-store-It.

This white with red trim Firebird is for sale on the local Craig's List.  It's a little steep for my price range, but the car runs and drives.

Then, on my way home I saw two more sitting at a very small local garage next to the highway.  I talked to the mechanic.  He said that a local customer bought these two cars several years ago with the idea of fixing the gray one and using the black one for parts.  Looks like he lost interest to me.

Looks like he spent some money under the hood, but maybe on all the wrong things.

And here's the last one for the day, a very nice project early 70's Camaro.  It is at the hobby shop as well.

There's at least a dozen more in my area.  Those were just on the way to the beach.  Military towns tend to collect them.

He has (6) 1978 Camaro / z28's he's parting out.  I'm going to stop by there tomorrow and see if he has any armrests.

God I wish someone would save this 78 firebord and Trans am.  I'm sitting at the gas station across the street and seeing them rusting away just kills me.  I'd buy them both if I had a bigger garage.  Corner of highway 172 and highway 24, Hubert, NC.
