Fellow Ohio Firebirds Members,
What started as a cloudy day turned into a great sunny day and a great time for those who attended. We had 16 members bring their cars and had a couple of co-pilots too. It turned out to be a great day and I appreciated all the help in preparation for the event from everyone. Many of our members were asked to bring something to contribute to a cookout and everyone came through (I must admit that Mike did forget to bring the cooking utensils, but Brett, the Hitman, Campbell saved the day).
Brett did most of the cooking with the help of Brock, our Columbus area member that made the journey, but we all helped eat! It was cold for the first few hours but warmed about the last hour as the sun came out. While we were there another car club came through with all older muscle cars and shared the area with us, that was pretty neat. After all was done most of our members paraded their cars over the covered bridge just for one pass before we left the area.
During the meeting portion of our event I asked if the 2007 Kiss/Firebird T-Shirts were still available and Rick Hunsicker stated he would forward his contact to the Club Secretary to ease in ordering. Brett Campbell stated the Ohio Firebirds grey polo shirts will be available and is looking to put another order together. He stated please feel free to contact him or the club secretary who will forward your order to him as well. I brought up dues and asked Mike Tyler to speak on the matter. Mike stated that if we were to conduct our club as a legal entity that we would need to assign a Treasurer, establish by-laws, get a back account, and Incorporate the Ohio Firebirds. I asked, along with Mike, that we allow people to “pitch in” to help with club events if they wished and asked for a show of hands to do away with dues at this time explaining that it is too much work. Everyone agreed. Brett Campbell brought up the use of his forum. How it was a great tool and explained how it is much easier for sharing information, it has a calendar that shows events, and he has a Chat Room so people can chat if they want. He urged all to sign on. Here is a link to his website http://www.78ta.com/smf/index.php. Brett was given an ovation for keeping up our Ohio Firebirds website. We are sure that he will be updating it again soon with new photos. Discussions of other cars shows were mentioned but it was a great time had by all that attended.

What a great time we had! Thanks to all of you that made this event happen.
