Hi,
First I want say how excellent your web page is!! I takes me back to when I worked out of high school for two years in pipeline construction eventually to buy the Blackbird. I wanted the T/A 6.6 L black and gold edition. It's funny I never really had seen the smokey and the bandit movies till later.
I think that was the coolest car I ever owned. By the time I could afford it however it was 1979 and I could only get the Blk/Gold 403 edition, still loved it though unfortuntly I ran out out money and between not eating and no gas for my bird I had to let her go. You'll notice the black paint peeled off the window frames, once it started I had to take it off.
Well, some day may actually buy a another (wife willing). Your site has opened my eyes to some possibilities and see how people like you take good care of them so old farts like me can appreciate them still. For now I will make models or collect them and dream! Do you know of a site or somewhere I can get a 1979 Blk/Gold edition plastic model to build? I know they haven't issued in a long time.
THANKS!
Steve B.

Here is a pic of my 1978 Formula. I have slowly been bringing her back to her glory as a few shady mechanics have had their hands on her. A brief vacation to Iraq has put me a little behind, but I just rebuilt the tranny and the motor to bring her just shy of 400 horses. Thanks for the great site.

painted on and not stickers. Please post on your website.

Just found your web site and would like to share my story.
I order this Trans Am in March 1976 and owned in for 5 years. With a house and family, the Trans am no longer suited my requirements and it was traded in for a truck. As I grew older I still like the look of theTrans Am. My wife suggest to see if we could find my original T.A.. I still had all the original documents for it...bill of sale showing VIN number and options. It was traced to a girl who had owned it for several years. After contacting her, I found that she had sold it just two weeks prior to my call. What a let down. I left her my phone number, just in case the new owner needed information about it. Six months later, I received the call I was looking for. The car had been painted blue and he wanted the original paint colour code to put it back to original state. About a year later, and several conversations, I purchased the car back. This time costing me more than the original price I paid for it! September 2003 "My 76 TA" came home. ("My 76 TA" is now it's licence plate). Working on the car since then, to do minor improvements to getting it back to original state. Just recently I have obtained 1st place in a local car show.. Very few 455, 4 speed, cars made it to Canada in that year.
A Gem in my eyes.

Brett , Just thought I send a pic of my 79 TA.I have owned several over the last 20 years ans just bought this one in June of this year from the original family that bought it new.I have alot of paperwork with the car and is all original down to the 8 track, even the floormats are 79.Price was 4200$ and was fine with that.Enterior is very nice no dash cracks or console cracks or burns, seats are not torn, and carpet still has a nice color to it as does the sail panel in the rear.I plan on keeping this one for years, and maybe adding a 25th someday. thanks for posting Ron
Brett wanted to send a pic of my 79 Red bird.It was a one owner California car with 76000 miles when I bought it on ebay and had it shipped yo Ohio.Still is in original condition with am only radio still in it.It joins a 79 Blue TA.
It is a 78 Firebird Formula. In the moment there is a 5.7 Chevy engine with 296 Lunati Cam,Edelbrock performer intake & a650 Holley Double pumper in the car.The automatic tranny is a 350TH.
It is in this time the loudest car in Town.
Thanks for your great side.
Greatings from Germany
