We meaning Lomileta, Dangerous, Leadfoot and I, left for the Saratoga Lawn Show on Friday at 6am from our Ohio residences to meet up with a few friends from here on the board and to hit the Saratoga Lawn Show for the Friday night festivites and the Lawn Show on Saturday.

We met up with last months Hitman's Pick of the Month brian c near Rochester NY about 9:30am and had some breakfast at a local Denny's just minutes off the NY Thru-way.

We visited for about an hour had a nice sit down meal.  Brian C is an outstanding guy, funny and bright, although it was hard for him to get a word in edge wise with lomileta's and my banter.  He brought his car with him for us to view with fresh decals just hours old on his car.

We arrived at the Marriott Fairfield about 3pm and noticed Maryland Bandit had already been in the pool with his son and was just getting ready to head to the Friday Night Cruise, with police escort to with SSPD escort to Mr. Ed`s Ice Cream Station and Pizza Restaurant.

However, with no sign of S76Guy lomileta reached out and touched someone with his cell phone (notice his lovely pink colored Cell Phone)

and sure enough S76Guy and family were just minutes away.

Here's the reception lomileta got when they finally got to the Hotel.

Of course Bigty88 (Tommy), S76Guy (Tony & family), Lomileta (Russ), Dangerous (Renee) and I had to fix up the bar in lomileta's room before we left for the lawn cruise.

Before Long it was time to leave the hotel and hit the road for the meeting on the lawn from the Hotel for the Cruise.  Thanks to Bigty88 for taking me and Leadfoot there and thanks to Maryland Bandit for the return trip.  They both made space for Leadfoot and I to and from the Cruise in there T/A's so we could travel respectively in a T/A to and from the event.

Here's the gang going to the lawn to catch up for the cruise.

Getting to the Lawn was impressive as many of the birds were getting lined up and ready to roll.

Moving out to head to Mr. Ed's!

Mr. Ed's Parking lot before it got all of the birds but it is unfortunate that I don't have a picture of all of them there....dang camera!

After the Cruise it was time for some fun back at the Hotel.....Firebird Style (as many here know what that means) with a complicated positioning of some trailers.

Maryland Bandit detailed his ride and had some great tunes going for us while we enjoyed each others company and made some new friends.

Maryland Bandits work paid off as he received a Third Place trophy for his beautiful girl in the Stock Class from 1977-1981.  He was very Proud!!!!!

Leadfoot, Jamie and TAKID455 (Larry) as they sit and chat.

Jamie, TAKID455 (Larry) and our new friend John (who recieved a first place trophy for his 1969 Modified Firebird with a 671 Blower...just a beautiful car too...I missed the photo opt and hope someone has a good one they can share of John's car)

Here's some new friends Eddie, Patrice, and Brad in our circle of trust.....lol

The rest of the night was a blurr much like this picture I took while trying to get on the elevator near the end of the evening....(Yes, those are my shows..LOL)

The next day came early from our party in the lot of the Hotel as we were in bed at 1:30 am and up at 7am to hit the Lawn for the Show on Saturday.
The Show grounds at 9am.

The car's came pouring in after that!

I couldn't pass up the chance to see Maryland Bandit and his son and there umbrella chairs....LOL  (this was Priceless folks)

More cars

The parking Staff was outstanding and packed them in like sardines.

There were 156 cars registered by the end of the day...not counting many that didn't register and all the proceeds going to the Special Olympics (A GREAT CAUSE FOLKS).
The HEAD CHEESE (Tom Smith winding down the day presenting trophies for all the classes).

This show Tom Smith and blue81ta (Kieth) put on was excellent, well run, very organized, and an outstanding cast of helpers.  I was honored by Tom, as he arranged for me to be a Guest Judge for the event, with the detail of judging two of the second generation stock classes.  I was privileged to work with blue81ta (Keith) as he helped me out a great deal, as Keith was Judging the modified second generation class and another class as well.  THANK YOU TO BOTH THESE TWO INDIVIDUALS (TOM & KEITH) FOR HAVING US ATTEND AND TREATING US ALL LIKE FAMILY!

This is a show that is just outstanding, I would highly recommend attending next year as it will get much bigger, and look forward to being there in Saratoga again next year.

Hey Hammer, sorry my car didn't make it to the show this year so you can get your ride. It's still at the interior shop getting some work done. The small project I took it in for getting a targa top made turned into a really big one. I'll post some pics for ya when it done. I know how much you like interiors.

I was there and checked out all the great cars. I did see you there but didn't want to bother you. You were judging the white 70 T/A. and looked very much into it. A very beautiful car.
Sorry to anyone else I really don't have the faces to put to the names.

Great time this weekend. decent turn out and meet/ reunited w/ old friends and folks. Bigty88 & I cruised up friday and left after the show. No problems with either car (78 & 74 T/A's)  and we both got around 14+ MPG for the 400 mile round trip. maybe we can add a trip to Lime Rock or Watkins Glen in the future. Who won best of show, I missed that award for some reason.  without further adieu, some more pictures:

some early birds

thought I was going to be the only one, but apparently not. this car was very nice although the engine color is off. Took home 1st in class

A 71,  my work-in-progress 74 and another 74 with nicer paint

nice goldenrod 76 a with nice engine. Owner is a Sox fan, but we wont hold that against him until October when NY & Beantown battles it out.

Macho Man. Only one present

OHC 6

!st place modified 67-69

I love the 30th's.

26k mile nascar. likes in my home town too

getting some go go juice

I am never too busy to stop what I am doing to chat....it's never a bother.  Life is too short ya know.  But I am very glad to hear my invitation to ride in your car is still open. Grin  I can't wait to see the new pictures of the targa top and of course the INTERIOR (My favorite).  You're a good man.

I was standing right next to ya when you were judging the 70. I guess I should have said something. Sad You looked like you were loving that 70. Grin

Very nice show. It was nice to see and meet some of you guys.  Here are a couple of pix of the first gen cars, since the 2nd gen cars are pretty well represented.

This first one is my friend Pauls 69 Firebird Ram Air covertible.  I may be a little biased, but it is an absolutely beautiful car.

Here is a 69 Trans Am.  This got first in the class.  Nice car, but i would have picked my buddies vert Grin  Just poking guys, you guys did a great job of judging.

Here are a couple more of various first gens
